Preserving the Apache language; Dictionary: Compilers of a new wordbook hope their work will save a tongue that is fading in Native American communities dominated by TV programs in English.

The dictionaries are available through the app store as the Wipukpa-Tolkapaya Yavapai Mobile Dictionary and the Dilzhe’e Apache Mobile Dictionary by the Language Conservancy.

The RWC was developed by The Language Conservancy (TLC), an NGO dedicated to protecting around 50 Indigenous languages around the world, in order to churn out such dictionaries at super-speed.

The Yavapai-Apache Nation says dictionaries are the first step in restoring culture.
